She is adorable.
Behind all that sweet doe eyed cuteness is the heart of the most mercilessly stubborn, sleep resisting baby ever. She has decided that she just doesn't want to sleep. Whether she needs it or not. She will do it.
For those who may think, "You are her mom. You are bigger and stronger. You just have to be consistent and firm. You are smarter than she is." You are wrong. Looks can be deceiving. She is Keyser Söze.
If you are unfamiliar with who Keyser Söze is, you have missed out on one of the greatest movies ever. If you have seen The Usual Suspects, I can tell you that Bryan Singer based the character on Tegan. He knew my daughter before we did. There is the person everyone calls the boss, the person who want to be the boss...and finally there is the actual boss. It is the person you least suspect. It's Tegan.
She is charming and sweet and the cutest thing you have ever seen. She is quiet and unassuming. You meet her and think she is harmless and surely is the easiest one in the family. The is quiet all day long. She smiles sweetly at you. She is not the first one to walk or talk and she likes to hang out in the periphery. She will fool you every time...and when your guard is down, she will come steal your toy, box you out of the spot you wanted to sit in and at her finest, she will make sure the rhythm and routine (I use the word routine loosely) of the house is completely thrown off simply by refusing to sleep. She is Keyser Söze.
She screams bloody murder when you try to put her to sleep and keeps us up all night, but then she wakes up in the morning, cocks her head to the side, flashes her amazingly sweet baby smile and makes her eyes twinkle and you are sucked in. Then she gives you the sweetest kiss you have ever had and you don't even care.
