Malachy and I went to the bagel store this morning in the rain (rain pictures and videos in another post)
While I was ordering my bagel, several of the other customers were chatting with Malachy. I heard someone ask him how old he was. He tries to hold up 2 fingers as he says 2, but it looks pretty funny.
When I came back to the table, he told me that he was two.
"Yes you are." I told him. "After you have a birthday, you will be 3".
He replied, "Yes, after my birthday I will be three...and then, I will have another birthday and I will be old...and I will drive away and you will be sad."
Where does he get this stuff from? He is right, I will be sad.
Kids say the darnest things.
