About every month and a half, we (read I) make up a massive batch of pancakes for the boy. I freeze them and then he has 4 pancakes total, made into 2 almond butter and jam sandwiches for breakfast. We have been out of pancakes for a couple of weeks, but with Jake's illness, there has been no time for cooking big batches of anything.
We had an afternoon free on Saturday and a little time to kill before dinner, so Malachy and I went to work. Any chance he gets to cook with me in the kitchen, he gladly takes. (he even asked to watch a cooking show the other day instead of Wordworld...)
Here are some photos from the tornado that is Malachy in the kitchen.
We of course HAVE to wear our chef hats while cooking.
Malachy got a box of Curious George books from his cousin Lisa for Christmas. One of his favorite stories is the one where George "helps" make pancakes.

George has the idea to add blueberries to the pancakes he makes...so of course Malachy had the "idea" to do this as well.
This was a new addition to our pancakes this time and he LOVED the ones with blueberries (not all of them got blueberries since Malachy was eating the berries faster than we could add them to the pancakes).
showing off the blueberry pancake he made.
Trying to eat the stack of finished pancakes.
We had LOTS of uh-oh's, about 5 very dirty kitchen towels, pancake batter all over the kitchen, but we managed to make 92 pancakes (minus the 6, that's right 6 pancakes that Mal consumed while we were cooking). We even had 1 very special chocolate chip pancake for the sous chef. The pancakes ended up being dinner that night and he ate them right out of his skillet. All in all it was a great way to spend the afternoon.
