Pumpkin Patch #3 aka Una Huerta de Calabazas numero tres

Bringing up the rear in the caboose
On my list of things to do with the kids during the month of October was to go to Spina Farms Pumpkin Patch.  Coincidentally, Malachy's school had a planned field trip which was open for families to attend.

Mal's favorite...until he saw the bumpy ones

The kids all had a presentation on the different types of pumpkins, a ride on the train, a hay ride and the opportunity to pick out a mini pumpkin and piece of Indian corn.

Look at that one

The great pumpkin

The girls loved being with all of the other kids and singing the pumpkin songs the class had been learning the week before.  After the class led activities, I piled the kids into one of the giant wagons and headed out to find some big pumpkins for the house.

Lailah's favorite one
There is something magical about having kids this time of year.  Seeing them run through the pumpkin patch, picking out pumpkins to hug and love and have fun in the warm autumn sun.  I would visit a different pumpkin patch every weekend with them if it were up to me.  Alas, Jake has put an end to the pumpkin patch visits after the third one.

We settled on a bumpy pumpkin, although I was lobbying for the pink ones.  Additionally, the kids each got to pick out a small pumpkin as part of the class activities.  Alas, no pumpkins actually got completely carved.  That is a story for another blog post.

Until next year...
